Since the discovery of the Yang-Baxter equation it has been over 50 years of developments of the Bethe ansatz exactly solvable models. The study of exactly solved models yields significant applications in a wide range of fields in physics and mathematics. Typical exactly solved systems in the more traditional setting of condensed-matter physics are quantum spin chains and ladders, Gaudin magnets, strongly correlated electron systems, Kondo problems, quantum gases and the BCS pairing model, Kitaev models etc. In this colloquium, I will demonstrate the importance and beauty of exactly solvable models from many-body perspectives. I will briefly review some prototypical integrable models of interacting spins, fermions and bosons that provide precise understanding of novel quantum many-body phenomena, such as fractional excitations, quantum liquids, quantum criticality, correlations, quantum magnetism, transport, etc. Such exact results will further place exactly solvable models into the lab for a wide range of physical phenomena. |

管习文,理学博士,二级研究员。1998年吉林大学博士毕业后到2002年期间在德国和巴西从事博士后研究。2003-2013年期间在澳大利亚国立大学物理与工程研究院任研究员、高级研究员,2012年10月被引进中科院武汉物理与数学研究所工作至今。曾任美国哈佛大学,洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室等世界一流研究机构的高级访问学者,清华大学高等研究院客座教授,香港中文大学杨振宁访问学人。是《Journal of Physics A》的Advisory Panel成员。 管习文长期从事量子少体和多体系统的严格解研究, 至今发表百余篇SCI论文,包括顶尖期刊《Review of Modern Physics》、《Advance in Physics》、《Nature Communications》、《Physical Review Letters》等。 |
